Chevron, etc.

Chevron in STR Lightweight Monsoon/Footzey Foo
This past week I decided to take a pause from the Rowan merry-go-round & pick up a few projects that had been laying fallow for a while. And boy am I glad I did, because I now have a finished chevron scarf and am one plane ride away (tomorrow--conference, only 36 hours but still) from a completed Ingenue. As I am sure you are aware, it's not every day that one can lay claim to finishing a chevron because everyone's favorite not-last-minute-gift takes a shitload of time. I gestated my kids longer than each one of these has taken me.

I am glad to have persevered because now I have a killer present to give one of my favorite friends. I only basically see her once a year, which might be a good thing because I already told my husband that there would no doubt be problems in our marriage if we both lived in the same city as I would likely ditch my family & want to spend all my time with her, maniacally laughing.

As a non-knitter she was a total champ last year and accompanied me to Loop, so it only seems right that I should make her something. I love how the colors on this chevron are basically understated and not crazy. If you are looking for your next time-suck, by all means spend some time perusing the Ravelry project gallery for this project. After several hours you'll emerge, probably realizing that you've soiled yourself, but you sure will have a lot of color combo ideas!

I love yours. Mine also seemed to take forever, and doesn't go with any of my coats.

Beautiful! I love the patterns from that book but have heeded the warnings on this one; I'm definitely a short project lover. And I haven't even been finishing those lately.

Great chevron! I don't think I could bring myself to knit another one (there is no way this scarf is a last-minute knit!), but I'd love one in these colors. Maybe someday I'll catch the crazy again.

bahahaha soiling myself! Nothing like poop humor in the morning.

Nice scarf! That STR is so nice. The heavyweight is a DK and it's also nice. Hmm. Maybe I'll take it on.

Beautiful! And I just lost a half hour to the chevron Ravelry project gallery. Thanks for that.

Gorgeous scarf! As soon as I finish my never-ending time-suck ripple stitch afghan (ummm ... in a decade or so!) I might just be inspired to cast on one of these.

I am so tempted, especially by this lovely green shaded one, but am taking your personal hygiene warning to heart.

I got on the chevron bandwagon, but unfortunately my colors do not go together.

I'm still ashamed to even look at the whole mess. Maybe the colors would look good with other colors . . . I get a headache just thinking about it. Listening to Stash and Burn, I've heard this happens to people when they shop at Purl. Colors look different in that store.

Oh, fabby. My chevron is on museum loan to Caro but I want a new one now. I'm stymied for color choice though. GOD THINGS ARE SO COMPLICATED.

I just started following your blog & the last two posts have seriously made me start drooling with the action-packed GLORIOUS FO action.

Or maybe it's that I'm pregnant and for some reason I apparently drool all the time whenever I'm up the pole. Regardless, I thank you for sharing your exceedingly badass knitting with the Intertubes.

Purty! Agree that this scarf takes a long time. My is still unfinished. I could probably gestate a Duggar family before my scarf is done.

I'm w/ one of the commenters above. Just started following your blog, but love it. Love the knitting and the humor....as a former PA resident (both with the yinz and the yous, but never in between), loving the pics too :) Love, love, love it!

It looks great! Awesome color combo! You're a very good friend to knit her a scarf that I akin to that longass hallway in Poltergeist that get longer as you run down it and never ever ends.

Congratulations!

I started my first Chevron...um...maybe two years ago? It's half done. I'm thinking of casting off and calling it a baby scarf.

Simply beautiful.

I wonder if I will ever finish my Chevron Scarf, started more than 2 years ago. Maybe if it was as beautiful as this one I might be inspired to.

Nice colors, and I like it the way your model (daughter?) wrapped it on her head. Great idea!
