Sweet Treat

Confection Cowl
I seem to be Single White Female-ing KK and her luscious designs as of late. I am starting to think of Through The Loops as the band whose album you automatically buy, no matter what, on the day it comes out (which apparently explains why I own Lovesexy). All the Water? Got it. Breathe Deep? Downloaded. Joni-Reykjavik-Dr. G's? check check CHECK. But somehow I missed Confection when it came out, and so stumbling upon it on Ravelry was extra thrilling, kind of like finding the 12" import with an awesome b-side...have I adequately dated myself yet? No matter. Confection is perfection.
Confection in MadTosh 'Poprocks'
The Specs
Pattern: Confection by Kirsten Kapur of Through the Loops
Yarn: MadTosh Sport Merino in 'Poprocks', 1 skein
Needles: Size 6 addi turbo lace needles. Have you tried these yet? Unbelievable. Something about the dull finish and the extreme pointiness of the tips make the whole experience just that more sweet.
Mods: Because I went up in needle size I cast on one fewer repeat.

This is a super-fast cowl and the resulting garment reminds me of a 1950's birthday party. The hot pink is so perfect for this project, it's making my teeth hurt. I'm keeping this little sugar baby for myself;)
Confection Cowl
Next up for me is the pattern that's sweeping the nation: Ishbel. Yahaira's sent me over the brink, and after much deliberation and a lot of input from Flickrpeeps, I've cast on using a skein of my girl Wendee's Hazel Knits Euphorbia. I knew it had to be green as I'm hoping to conjur up some spring around these parts!

You can go all Single White Female on me any day. Besides, I stalk your blog so I can get my allotment of pretty pictures and belly laughs.

Now pardon me while I go print out this post and frame it. As if your nice words weren't enough you go and add peeps and pretty green yarn.

We could all SWF'ing Kirsten. She is awesome! So are you! Those are gorgeous knits and photos you post and now you've gone and added peeps too. :)

Pretty, pretty knitting, but please tell me that you're not implying that only a crazed fan would buy the BEST PRINCE ALBUM EVER? Granted, the cover is a bit off-putting, but the jams are tiiiiiight!

When 2 R in Love, I Wish U Heaven, Eye No, Anna Stesia??? I mean come on!!!

(sorry, I think I just proved your point about crazy Prince fans)

Love those pink confections, both in cowl AND bunny forms.

I'm right there with you on the spring green -- I have 1 green sweater and 1 green scarf on the needles right now. Ishbel's looking lovely -- it's on my to-knit list, too.

The pattern is awesome but the peeps put me over the edge.

Love that green for your Ishbel. I certainly hope that by the time you're done, there is actual green outside to go with it!

Thanks for the inspiration. I am ready to ditch my current WIP and desperately needed this peep into a lovely spring knit.

That's a wonderful color for Ishbel. I've been thinking about that pattern too.

Kirsten is the mac daddy, or whatever the cool kids say now.

I've got a bright green spring yarn lined up for Ishbel, too. Maybe I'll say eff the other projects and make myself a shawl...

oh my - that Confection is so sweet it's hurting MY teeth! Clearly I need to dig that pattern out - but I am stalking KK by starting a beret and some mittens soon - sheesh, she has that effect on knitters! I love that the peeps are posing on on that gorgeous cowl - seriously, it would make a great Easter card - so spring-perfect!

I lost your rss feed again! WTF?!? I've not been ignoring you - well no more than anyone else with the distractions here :) Love that cowl, great pattern, great color. And I just have to say re: your previous post - WOW! hats galore or what.

How did I miss that pattern! Now I'm gonna go SWF on you! A cowl, pink peeps and yarn called poprocks: a holy trinity of wonderfulness.

Is it marshmellow peeps (and bunnies) time again already? They really are just so wrong, and yet so necessary at the same time, aren't they?

Happy knitting-

The color on that cowl is simply amazing!

I feel as though I'm like the dopey girl who finds a cool pattern and then realizes that everyone else not only knew about it but is already knitting it. That Ishbel is going to be gorgeous for Spring. You know, if it ever arrives....

peeps? peeps! PEEPS?! What the hell are they? Well whatever they are, they look damn tasty. Ishbel is a lovely pattern and will look gorgeous in that green.
