The Reports of My Sock Demise were Greatly Exaggerated

I know that I am potentially jinxing myself right now, but I think I might be in love with socks again. There are many indications that this is perhaps the case. They include:

-staying up past my bedtime to read Wendy Knits' Socks from the Toe Up and Cookie A.'s Sock Innovation. I can't put these two books down! I know that there is many a slip twixt the reading about socks and the making of them, but doesn't it seem like a good sign?

-obsessively looking at Ravelry FO pages and scanning for time to completion stats. Pomatomus Socks. Started: March 25, Finished: March 29. Hey, I could've done that....(sure, if I had taken to my bed, but still! Seems semi-plausible!)

-making sure I have all the Addi Turbo Lace needles in sizes 1-2-3 at the 47 inch length. The utter superiority of these needles is blowing my mind. I know, having the needles is one thing, but using them is another...

-getting three golden oldie WIPs out and working on them in my spare time. This might be my greatest piece of evidence that the socks are back in the house! STR 'Spacedust' Monkeys, Malabrigo 'Violetas Africanas' Embossed Leaves, and Plain Ol' Sock in Kaffe Fassett 'Landscape Fire'.

Monkey in STR Mediumweight 'Spacedust'
Embossed Leaves in Malabrigo Sock yarn 'Violetas Africanas'
Plain as hell sock in Kaffe Fassett 'Landscape Fire'

And luckily my sock-thusiasm is back just in time for you-know-what: MDS&W! I am ready to hit the ground running on Saturday with my trusty companion Peeper-Lou (check!), my insatiable thirst for Lime Fizz (check!), and my secret the-bill-is-sent-to-work credit card (double check!). Maybe I'll see you there...

I am oddly drawn to the colors in the "plain" sock. I wish I could meet you real and in person. Have a great time!

I just bought some purple-ish Malabrigo which I have high hopes for...but I've already made the embossed leaves three times! You can certainly finish those socks. I mean you're the ADD knitter after all.

Sock-thusiam, heh. Wish I could get me some... Nice socks - that purple is YUM.

Have fun at the Sheep and Wool :)

I love knitting socks but I have too many now. What to do what to do? Do I continue even though I may never wear them? Those are lovely! Have a great time!

Secret credit card? Now why didn't I think of that! Genius.

I'm feeling the sock-love too. Your gorgeous ones (that purple!!!) are making my fingers twitch.

Have fun at MDS&W. Wish I was going too.

Up with socks!

My sock-thusiasm waxes and wanes. My 2nd pair of Embossed Leaves, in the lovely Sundara, is still only half done. Seeing your gorgeous purple one makes me want to get back to it! (but I need to finish Ishbel first, oh, and several squares that were due for a swap last week, and yeah, a couple of dragon hoodies)

Have fun at MDSW!

I, like Tiennie have plenty of socks, don't want to ever give away the ones I knit, am still knitting them like an obsessed person, and then loved looking at the pictures of your Monkeys in STR and the Embossed Leaves, even though I have knitted them both. I think it's an addiction. You thought you'd kicked it. Welcome back to the fold.

Oh I do hope to see you there. I'm just not sure I've seen enough photos of you to recognize you!

I concur on the Addi Lace thing. Another favorite needle of mine for sock knitting are the Knit Picks Harmony circulars. Just don't sit on them. Damn those size one wooden needles are easy to break.

Oooh, secret credit card... brilliant, if slightly dangerous, idea!

I love my Addi Lace needles too!

Have fun and happy knitting-

I am gasping...those are all so beautiful!!!

I seem to have lost my knitting enthusiasm all together. And with a pair of socks ready to come off the needles, even! For shame.

I've said it before, I know, but I really dig the Space Dust Monkeys. That might have to be my next cast on.

Welcome back sock mojo! Hope it sticks around. Someone told me that a sure cure for flacid sock mojo is knitting with bright orange Koigu. Haven't tried it yet. I love those Space Dust monkeys!
It qwas so great meeting you on Saturday! I had a major brain fart and forgot to give you a proper Hello hug and take a photo with you. Next time. Yum, Lime Fizz. I had the refreshing Limeade from the Lamb stand not too far from the Lime Fizz people.

Those monkeys are the shizknits!!! And, I would venture to say that the Sock Force has ALWAYS been strong with you...

strangely my sock mojo has returned too. Maybe my super sweater knitting brought it back or maybe it was the new str ; )
LOVE your monkeys, and purple leaves. Your plain ol'sock looks very familiar! Great colors in it, the blue makes me so friggin happy.
