Mellow Grellow

Leaf Lace Shawl in Silky Malabrigo
More evidence that doing tasks pre-coffee is ill-advised: earlier this morning I posted pics of this project and Flickr and Ravelry that I knew were not 100% right but I couldn't put my finger on the problem. Several hours later a RavPal pm'ed me and commented on my unusual flight of fancy. "Did you mean to show the wrong side?" "Why yes, of course, heh heh". D'urr as Peeper-Lou would say. Here's one of the I must be on mushrooms ones:
Leaf Lace Shawl in Silky Malabrigo 'Narciso'

Neat, but not as impressive as the right side. Maybe that's why it's called the right side...Doing another photo shoot allowed Madame Older Sister to break out her best gray t-shirt and yellow capris for a grellow-tastic shawl how-down in the backyard. She's 14 now and has informed me that 'Tween Thing' is no longer an acceptable moniker...sigh.
Leaf Lace Shawl in Silky Malabrigo
Specs:
Pattern: Leaf Lace Shawl by Evelyn C. Clark
Yarn: Silky Malabrigo in Narciso, 2.25 skeins
Needles: size 9
Mods: None, and I am proud to say that I didn't even make one mistake on it, either, which is a shawl first for me.
Leaf Lace Shawl in Silky Malabrigo
Earthchick has observed that I have made the transition from hat lady to shawl lady--and I think she might be correct. This one feels like it just flew off the needles. I have several more lots of Silky Malabrigo that will fit the bill and am thinking that the time is ripe to bust out another Evelyn C. pattern, one that I've made before and do cherish--the Shetland Triangle.

Very nice shawl! How come there is no spike around like the one on Ravelry? Althought I prefer yours. Fantastic work! Bravo!

The wrong side is not too shabby :)

I think I too have turned from hat lady to shawl lady. I cannot seem to get enough of them. Yours is so lovely, that is the perfect shade of pale yellow

OMG! That is just beautiful. It's the perfect shade of yellow. I bought some Malabrigo silky just before Christmas and I can't find it. It's killing me.

Wrong side, shmong side - both sides look lovely.
So impressive - I'm having no luck with things flying off my needles lately. Perhaps summer will help.

That shawl looks positively delicious. I can only imagine the silkiness!

It's gorgeous, no matter what side you look at. Speaking of gorgeous, your "no longer a tween" girl is growing into a beautiful young woman. But don't tell her I said so, she'd probably just go "D'urr!"

it took me a while to even notice which one was which!
I love that yellow, it's so unyellow

That's just gorgeous. Wow. And while yellow isn't a color to which i gravitate, this shade is just perfect. Lovely!

Hooray for shawls! This one is especially lovely (and, thanks to you, now on my favorites list at Ravelry). Malabrigo seems like the perfect choice of yarn ... mmm!

Oooo -- love your shawl! Looks so comfy, soft and squishy -- and beautiful color too.

It's beautiful. You are Master of the Shawl. I didn't notice it was the wrong side either. The right side is mucho rocking.

Beautiful! I envy people who can wear yellow, it is such a lovely happy color.

Taking pics of the wrong side sounds like something I would do, totally, not even kinda kidding... hehe...

Happy knitting-

Gorgeous, LOVE the grellow!

Wait, I thought you were Cowl Lady? Maybe we just should combine them all and call you HaCoSha Lady.

sophanne said...

You'll always be "Stash Lady" to me.

Grellow= Fabulous.

I'm hoping to reach a point someday where my ability to knit lace catches up with my desire to knit lace. Until then I will have no mistake free lace.

I thought it was a garter shawl! Either way garter or stockinette, RS or WS, it looks pretty :)
My word verification is "hosiness". Hosiness?! Is blogger trying to tell me something?

LOVE the color, logging into Rav to see what it is!
Beautiful job, either side is looking great to me!

Just beautiful! Hey, I'm impressed that your daughter's even willing to model handknits for your blog -- giving up on the Tween Thing moniker seems reasonable.

Mmm... shawls. So much fun to knit! And the Silky Merino is wonderful to work with, too.

The wrong side is pretty too. I am pretty much a fan of anything knit in yellow at this point. Big brother recently told me that he is "not Little Sir, [he is] Big Sir now." Right.

That shade of yellow is just beautiful!

Too funny! I personally think "I hadn't had my coffee yet" should be an acceptable defense in a court of law.

The shawl is gorgeous (of course)!

Nice shawl! The upside of that "wrong side" shot is that it is a darling pic of Peeper :)

Oh dear. I think all knitters are absent-minded by definition. That's totally something I would do.

I love the color - and the shawl is lovely! The Shetland will be a nice one too!

using that yarn with that pattern is lovely. gotta love the malabrigo.

SO fantastic. Love it even more on the right side. (Yep, I didn't even notice the one I commented on on flickr was the wrong side!). LOVE this.

I am currently suffering from shawl fever myself. Must be that time of year.

So pretty. Tween thing models it so well we are distracted from the "wrong" sidedness.

This is just beautiful - I love it!

the super scary thing is, your not alone. My children are totally killing my brain I'm extremely surprised that I can still "figure out the car"!
Holy Crap girl, I just love that shawl! The yellow is perfect, and so is the lace pattern. Fab!
