Namely, knitting a vest for my father out of Rowan Chunky Tweed (ka-ching$!) and in trying to accomodate the McCoy tummy failing to account for the arm holes. Yes, look closely and you will see a garment similar to one worn by Fred Flintstone. Luckily the recipient doesn't seem to notice, or mind. Such is the beauty of being 79.

...when you can have a Christmas sleeve!! Yes, this is what I gave my darling mother for Christmas--a sleeve. Why has the sweater not been completed you wonder? Let's just say that math was never my forté and in calculating the yardage for the sweater I failed to do the whole 'meter into yards' calculation and ended up on the short side of "Merry Christmas, here' s your sweater." Wasn't it the same type of mathematical error that screwed up the Hubble? Anyway, the stakes were somewhat lower here. But luckily the yarn store ran out of the color and I threw away the ball band, so I am hosed at the moment. LYS owner snipped a piece and is trying to obtain more, so we'll just be sitting tight at the moment.
